
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has commenced distribution of sensitive materials to Area Council offices in preparation for this Saturday”s FCT Area Council Election.
The distribution was carried out im the presence of party agents, civil society organisations and the media.
The materials distributed are ballot papers, result sheets and bimodal voters authentication systems.
The sensitive materials are to be kept in INEC area offices till Friday when they will be redistributed to Registration Area Centers.
About twelve thousand trained Ad-hoc Staff would be at the Registration Area Centers on Friday evening to receive the sensitive materials for onward distribution to the polling units on the election day.
Addressing news men and some foreign observers, INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu said two thousand eight hundred and ththirty-twoimodal Voters Accreditation Systems had been configured for the Two Thousand Two Hundred and Twenty Nine Polling Units across the Six Area Councils.
Professor Yakubu said the Commission was ready to conduct electron for 1milliom three hundred and seseventy-threehousand, four hundred and nininety-twoegistered voters in the Federal Capital Territory.
The
INEC Boss explained that the sensitive materials were customised in different colours according to the area council.
He emphasized that all the sensitive materials were collected at the Central Bank of Nigeria in the presence of all stakeholders.
He assured residents that the commission was adequately ready to conduct cra edible FCT Area Council Election on Saturday.
