A dignified show of solidarity and respect, the Comptroller of Immigration joined the nation’s top security and political figures in paying tribute to late former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, during his final homecoming in Katsina.
The Comptroller arrived at the Katsina Airport early and swiftly joined other heads of security agencies to welcome the Inspector General of Police and Service Chiefs who touched down ahead of the President’s arrival. Shortly after, he moved to the VIP section of the airport, where he joined Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda and other top dignitaries to receive President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a deeply emotional moment, the Comptroller accompanied the President to the aircraft conveying the remains of the late elder statesman. Alongside other service chiefs, he stood in honour as a guard of dignity was mounted for the departed national leader.
Following the solemn airport ceremony, the Comptroller proceeded to Daura in the company of the Katsina State Command Comptroller, CIS Muhammad Ibrahim, and the Comptroller Jibia Border Command. Upon arrival, they were warmly received by the representative of the Comptroller General of Immigration, ACG S.B Daura; the Zonal Coordinator, ACG A. Ambursa; and fellow Comptrollers from Kano, Kaduna, and Jigawa States, as well as the Commandant of the Immigration Training School Kano (ITSK).
The delegation paid a heartfelt condolence visit to the late President’s family at his Daura residence and participated in the funeral prayers and burial rites. Together, they offered prayers for the eternal rest of the former President’s soul, reflecting on his legacy of discipline, patriotism, and service to the nation.
With the solemn rites concluded, the delegation departed quietly, leaving behind a message of unity, national service, and honour for a leader who gave his all to Nigeria.
