IGP Approves Promotion of 10,581 Police Personnel, Stresses Merit-Based Advancement

In a significant move towards enhancing personnel welfare, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has given the nod for the promotion of 10,581 deserving junior officers within the Inspectorate Cadre and Rank and File of the Nigeria Police Force.

The promotions include 9,831 Police Constables ascending to the rank of Corporal, 81 Corporals advancing to Sergeant, and 669 officers progressing from Sergeant to Inspector.

The IGP underscores the commitment of the Force leadership to meritocracy and career growth, highlighting the importance of timely promotions in boosting morale and operational efficiency. Emphasizing that promotions will be based solely on merit, he reaffirms the Force’s dedication to ongoing manpower development initiatives.
