In his efforts to contribute to his community in education, General Aminu Shehu Chinade has revealed that he built a 6-classroom school in his hometown of Chinade in Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State to show his gratitude to Allah SWT for the blessings he has bestowed upon him and his family for the position he has reached today and for his efforts to provide free education as he was also given in the past, having completed his primary to secondary education without paying any fees.
The General disclosed this in an interview with our correspondence shortly after the inauguration of this major project to build this educational institution under his foundation, which was attended by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General OO Oluyede, represented by Major General AS Ahmed, which was held in Chinade.
General Aminu added that whenever you give free education to the community, you must have created a great solution especially for the youth of tomorrow.
According to him, this school as planned will teach children at the primary level in the morning while in the afternoon, Islamic studies will be taught in the evening and adults will be teach an adult education to fight ignorance so that every section of the community will benefit.
General Aminu added that when he decided to start this project of building this educational institution after the foundation stone was laid, he informed his boss, the Chief of Army Staff, about his plan, which the Chief of Army Staff said that the military sector would also provide support, which later the military sector also provided support to build this school.
He added that after the school he built, almost three years ago, he launched a foundation that includes himself and his family, which was created with the aim of providing scholarships to students who are aspiring to pursue higher education at the tertiary level in the country, and currently over 200 students from Chinade are benefiting from this scholarship.
“According to him, in the future, he also plans to develop a program to establish a youth vocational training center for self-reliance in his hometown of Chinade, God willing, under this foundation, so that it can continue to contribute to the nation.”
“He also thanked the Bauchi State Government, His Royal Highness the Emir of Katagum, the local government, the District head of Chinade and the people of Chinade for their support in achieving this goal.”
