The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, has pledged a comprehensive overhaul of federal assets across Nigeria, emphasizing renovation, safeguarding, and value optimization.
The announcement came during a Stakeholder-Citizens Engagement on Land Administration held in Lagos on Friday, December 13, 2024.
Under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the Ministry aims to enforce strict land administration laws while resolving land disputes and addressing irregular developments.
The Minister toured federal housing projects and facilities in Lagos during his three-day working visit, expressing concern over their poor state and vowing swift action.
Dangiwa highlighted plans to increase affordable housing stock, modernize field offices for improved productivity, and address unauthorized developments along shorelines.
Developers have been given a one-month ultimatum to regularize documents or face sanctions.
The engagement also tackled issues such as double ground rents, flooding in estates, and road infrastructure. “This dialogue ensures citizens’ concerns are heard and integrated into our strategy,” Dangiwa affirmed, reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to sustainable urban development.
