HORROR IN ZAMFARA: Over 150 Villagers Chained, Starving in Bandits’ Captivity — Disturbing TikTok Video Sparks Outrage

Katsina state government

A chilling video posted on TikTok by a notorious bandit leader known as Ibrahim Musa 099 has revealed the horrifying plight of more than 150 kidnapped villagers from Madaro, Maguru, Kyambarawa, Janbako, and surrounding communities in Zamfara State — all held hostage deep in the forest, chained, tied, starving, and sick.

The disturbing footage shows men, women, and crying children—many appearing weak and malnourished—pleading for food, medicine, and rescue. The captors are seen wielding rifles, with victims sprawled under trees, some too frail to sit upright.

“Ibrahim Musa 099” used the viral video to call on the Nigerian government for negotiations, saying, “We’re ready to talk — if they want peace, they should come to us.”

The footage has triggered nationwide shock and international condemnation, with human rights groups urging urgent action to rescue the captives.

“These people are being tortured in slow motion,” said a Zamfara-based civil society leader. “This is not just a security failure—it’s a humanitarian catastrophe.”

Locals say the victims were abducted in separate raids over the last two weeks, with little to no intervention from security forces. Fear grips nearby villages as rumors of more attacks swirl.

The Federal Government and Zamfara State authorities are yet to issue an official response, even as pressure mounts for immediate rescue efforts.

The fate of the hostages—many of them children—now hangs in the balance.
