Hope Rises in Kano as Saudi-Based Foundation Unveils Orphanage, Mosque

Borno State Government

A major humanitarian milestone was recorded in Kano State as the Albidairi Foundation commissioned a large, purpose-built orphanage complex alongside a newly constructed mosque, reinforcing efforts to protect vulnerable children and expand access to education.

The facility, officially inaugurated in January 2026, is located in Langel community, Tofa Local Government Area. Designed to provide shelter, care, and moral upbringing, the orphanage is expected to serve as a safe haven for children who are orphaned or at risk.

Speaking at the inauguration, stakeholders described the project as a timely intervention aimed at supporting Kano’s drive to reduce the number of out-of-school children, while also strengthening community welfare and social responsibility.

Beyond accommodation, the complex is set to offer a nurturing environment that promotes education, discipline, and values, with the mosque providing a centre for spiritual guidance for both residents and the host community.

Community leaders and residents hailed the initiative, praising the Albidairi Foundation’s commitment to humanitarian service and its growing footprint in northern Nigeria.

As Kano State continues to confront social and educational challenges, the newly commissioned orphanage stands as a symbol of compassion, partnership, and renewed hope for a better future.
