In a grand ceremony that blended pride, discipline, and heartfelt celebration, the Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, CP Bello Shehu, on Monday, July 28th, 2025, decorated no fewer than 589 newly promoted officers with their new ranks.
The ceremony, held at the state command headquarters, drew a large audience of senior officers, families, friends, and well-wishers. It was a day of joy for the officers, who were recognized for their commitment and loyalty to the Nigeria Police Force.
Of the 589 officers, three were elevated to the prestigious rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), while others were promoted from Corporal to Sergeant and Sergeant to Inspector.
While addressing the gathering, CP Shehu expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, and the Police Service Commission for honouring the officers’ dedication. He urged the newly promoted personnel to see the elevation as a call to serve with even greater zeal, professionalism, and patriotism.
“Promotion comes with added responsibility. This should spur you to redouble your commitment to duty and uphold the highest standards expected of the Force,” CP Shehu emphasized.
Speaking on behalf of the newly decorated officers, ACP Abdullahi Muhammad Dattijo, Assistant Commissioner of Finance and Administration, conveyed appreciation to the IGP, PSC, and CP Shehu for the confidence reposed in them. He promised unwavering service and dedication, vowing that the Nigeria Police Force would continue to soar in Katsina and beyond.
The event concluded with cheers, camera flashes, and firm handshakes — a moment of honour in the lives of the 589 officers who climbed a step higher on the ladder of duty.
