LOKOJA — A late-night prayer session turned into a nightmare on April 11 when armed men stormed a mountain worship site in Lokoja, kidnapping several worshippers. However, in a dramatic twist, a brave vigilante team rescued a woman, Mary Adams Gure, from the abductors.
According to intelligence sources, the attack occurred around 11:00 p.m. at the Egbola Area along Agbaja Road, where over ten individuals had gathered for prayers. The assailants, firing sporadically, descended on the group and forced them into the bush.
In the confusion, Gure managed to flee the scene, navigating through the darkness to safety. Shortly after, security forces and local vigilantes launched a manhunt to track the attackers and rescue the remaining victims.
Authorities say efforts are ongoing to secure the safe return of the abducted worshippers and bring the perpetrators to justice.
