As the day for World Cervical Cancer of 2025 campaign draw nearer, stakeholders around the globe have commenced all the necessary protocols for outstanding outings
United Nations designed the World Health Organization (WHO) has launched a global strategy to eliminate Cervical Cancer as a public health problem, hence observing the day, every November 17th.
Before, I never mind of what so ever activities regarding to day, till I heard a discussion with one Female specialist from FTH Hospital Katsina, on cancer where she talk about the prevailance of the disease in the society and Katsina in particular.
During the discussion in a program i anchored, i made to understand that, the massive movement for elimination of Cervical Cancer has become more aggressive with the emergence of the Wife of Katsina State Governor Hajiya Fatima Dikko Radda ( Zinariyar Gwagwaren Katsina).
Even though, Cervical Cancer is the third in the top Cancers in adults with twelve (12) percent indices, the radical approach of this major stakeholder (Hajiya Fatima Dikko Radda) make the disease more pronounced and the campaign against its start gathering momentum.
Since then, Zinariyar Gwagwaren Katsina, has been actively advocating against cervical cancer through various initiatives
Through her pet project Pledging Aid Charity Foundation, (PAC)F Fatima Dikko Radda engages with local communities, raising awareness about cervical cancer and promoting health-seeking behavior among Women folk
Such Initiatives also involved awareness Creation with emphasize on the importance of awareness, access to care, and women’s empowerment in the fight against cervical cancer. Fatima Radda encourages women to prioritize their health and seek medical attention if they experience any symptoms.
Partnership with Healthcare Organiztions
to provide free cervical cancer screenings and vaccinations in local communities. This initiative aims to increase access to healthcare services, particularly for vulnerable women.
Support for HPV Vaccination which is a crucial step in preventing cervical cancer. Katsina State has successfully introduced the HPV vaccine, achieving 100% coverage of the target population.
Collaboration with Global Health Initiatives where She supports global campaigns like the WE GLOW TEAL campaign, which aims to raise awareness about cervical cancer and promote prevention and early detection.
By and large, Fatima Dikko Radda’s campaign against cervical cancer is focused on increasing awareness, improving access to healthcare services, and promoting women’s empowerment. Her efforts have contributed to a better understanding of the disease and its prevention in Katsina State and beyond.
Seen is believing as Her Excellency Fatima Dikko Radda Zinariyar Gwagwaren Katsina, has already its WALk Away Cancer Tag# for 2025 campaign dominated her social media pages and that of her FANS.
Zinariyar Gwagwaren Katsina always blow her trumpet before somebody borrow and blow for himself.
