In a decisive strike, troops neutralised JULAIBIB, a senior ISWAP commander, during an encounter near Kimba in Damboa LGA, Borno State, on January 30, 2026. Security intelligence confirms the operation shattered ISWAP’s command structure in the area, throwing fighters into disarray.
Momentum continued with a deadly ambush between Ngazalgana and Lamusheri, where three terrorists were neutralised and two AK-47 rifles recovered. Another ambush at Tsokorok, Gwoza LGA, forced BH/ISWAP elements to retreat, leaving one terrorist neutralised and two motorcycles seized—without any loss to troops.
In Adamawa State, soldiers swiftly foiled an armed robbery in Barama, Mubi North LGA, arresting two suspects and recovering cutlasses, laptops and mobile phones. Earlier, a joint patrol with vigilantes along the Amtasa–Washim axis, Hong LGA, rescued an abducted woman and recovered assault rifles and ammunition after engaging fleeing terrorists.
