In a bid to alleviate suffering, Governor Zulum supervises the distribution of food and non-food items to 30,000 beneficiaries in Mafa, Borno State.

15,000 male heads of households receive essential supplies, including 25kg of rice, 25kg of maize, 10kg bag of sugar, and 10,000 naira each.

Similarly, 15,000 women are provided with a wrapper, a cartoon of spaghetti, and 5000 naira each.

Expressing gratitude, Governor Zulum acknowledges support from the North-East Development Commission for providing 15,000 cartoons of spaghetti and also thank the federal government for supporting the effort of the state government in recent time.

Regarding the relocation of internally displaced persons (IDPs) to their ancestral homes, Governor Zulum emphasizes the need to strengthen community resilience. He highlights the importance of cultivating farmlands as government’s provision of food will cease within 1 or 2 years due to sustainability concerns.

Addressing concerns about deliberate fire outbreak in IDP camps, in a brief interview with journalist in Mafa, Governor Zulum said,” the outbreak of fire in camps is worrisome, it came to our knowledge that some IDPs set their tents on fire deliberately to get the government attention, which is very unreasonable, all this shall be stopped”.

“We pledges to ensure a dignified return for IDPs and provide necessary support for them to rebuild their livelihoods”.
