Governor Radda Urges Stronger Collaboration Among Justice Stakeholders to Uphold Rights of the Common Man

Katsina state government

Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has called for stronger collaboration between all arms of the justice system and the state government to ensure justice for all, especially the common man.

He made the call while receiving the leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Katsina Branch, during a courtesy visit to Government House, Katsina. The team was led by the State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Fadila Mohammed Dikko.

Governor Radda described the court as the last hope of the common man and said legal professionals must play their part in fighting banditry, kidnapping, and other crimes.

“Our legal system must be strong and fair. Lawyers, investigators, and prosecutors must work together to make sure no criminal escapes justice,” he said.

The Governor warned against delays in court processes and investigations. He urged all those involved to avoid unnecessary delays that slow down justice.

“Let us remove the obstacles and work together. The people deserve a justice system that works in their favour,” he added.

He also noted that while there are challenges in case investigation and court presentation, all parts of the justice system must work together to build trust and uphold the rule of law.

Governor Radda asked the NBA to send their requests in writing so the government can study them and see where support is possible.

The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Fadila Mohammed Dikko, thanked the Governor for his support to the justice sector.
She said the Ministry is working with all stakeholders to improve justice delivery in the state.
“We are committed to improving how cases are handled and making sure people get justice on time,” she said.

Earlier, the Chairman of the NBA Katsina Branch, Barrister Shafiu Umar Karfi, thanked the Governor for setting up the Community Security Watch Corps to support security efforts in the state.

He also promised NBA’s support for the government’s justice reforms and requested a permanent office for the association, as well as better pay and working conditions for magistrates and state lawyers.

The visit is part of the Radda administration’s effort to strengthen justice and improve law and order in Katsina State.
