Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, will formally declare open the first biannual meeting of the National Consultative Committee on Statistics (NCCS) scheduled for May 21-22, 2025, at the Katsina State Secretariat Complex.
The gathering, themed “Promoting Development at Subnational Level Through Improved State GDP Compilation,” brings together State Statisticians General, representatives from Inland Revenue Services, Customs, and key ministries from across Nigeria.
The Governor explained that holding the prestigious national meeting meets the administration’s commitment to evidence-based governance and economic planning.
“Reliable statistical data forms the foundation of sustainable development, and Katsina State is proud to provide the platform for this critical national discourse,” said Governor Radda.
“We look forward to welcoming these distinguished statistical experts to Katsina State and anticipate that the outcomes of their deliberations will enhance our planning capabilities and development initiatives,” the Governor added.
The NCCS is Nigeria’s highest statistical coordination body, plays a crucial role in standardizing data collection methodologies, policy recommendations, monitoring and evaluation frameworks, and fostering collaboration across all levels of government.
The two-day event is expected to produce strategic frameworks that will strengthen Nigeria’s statistical systems and improve policy formulation at both state and federal levels.
