The Executive Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, was ably represented yesterday by a high-powered delegation at the historic turbaning ceremony of former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Arc. Mohammed Namadi Sambo, GCON, who was conferred with the prestigious title of Sardaunan Zazzau.
The ceremony was performed by His Highness, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, the Emir of Zazzau, at his palace in Zaria.
The Katsina State delegation was led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Usman Abba Jaye Danmalikin Katsina. Other members of the delegation included the Karshin Katsina and District Head of Shinkafi, Alhaji Sanusi Kabir Usman; the Sarkin Fuloti of Katsina, Alhaji Iro Idris Danfuloti; Alhaji Sadik; and several other respected dignitaries.
Speaking on behalf of Governor Radda, the delegation extended congratulations to Arc. Mohammed Namadi Sambo on the well-deserved honour, describing him as a distinguished statesman whose legacy of service, humility, and dedication to national unity continues to inspire leaders across Nigeria.
Governor Radda, through his representatives, prayed for Allah’s continued blessings, wisdom, and strength for the new Sardaunan Zazzau as he assumes this revered traditional role.
The grand ceremony attracted prominent Nigerians, traditional rulers, political leaders, and well-wishers from within and outside the country, all gathered to celebrate the former Vice President’s outstanding contributions to national development and public service.
