In a strategic move to strengthen governance and improve service delivery, Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has announced a major cabinet reshuffle and approved the appointment of two new Special Advisers.
The shake-up, which takes immediate effect, is designed to reposition key ministries for greater efficiency and align government operations with the administration’s Building Your Future agenda.
According to a statement signed by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, the reshuffle affects several ministries, with some commissioners redeployed and others taking on new leadership roles.
Under the new arrangement, Hon. Adnan Nahabu becomes the Commissioner for Higher, Vocational and Technical Education, while Prof. Ahmad Muhammad Bakori moves from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development to head the newly created Ministry of Livestock Development.
Hon. Aliyu Lawal Zakari has been redeployed from the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to the Ministry of Agriculture, while Hajiya Zainab Musa Musawa moves from Basic and Secondary Education to the Ministry of Special Duties.
Meanwhile, Hon. Yusuf Suleiman Jibia is the new Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, and Engr. Surajo Yazid Abukur takes over as Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development.
In a significant inclusion, Hajiya Aisha Aminu, formerly the Director-General of the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency, has been appointed Commissioner for Women Affairs, marking her entry into the cabinet.
Governor Radda also approved the appointment of Hajiya Hadiza Abubakar Yar’adua as Special Adviser on Nutrition and Welfare Services, and Isa Muhammad Musa as Special Adviser on Cultural Orientation.
Governor Radda urged all appointees to demonstrate renewed commitment, loyalty, and diligence in implementing the administration’s policies and programmes, emphasizing that the reshuffle was guided by performance and the need to deepen sectoral impact.
“This realignment is about results — ensuring that our ministries and agencies deliver effectively to the people of Katsina State,” the Governor said, expressing confidence that the new team would “enhance coordination, deepen expertise, and fast-track the delivery of critical projects across education, agriculture, youth development, women empowerment, and social welfare.”
The Katsina helmsman reaffirmed his administration’s determination to sustain reforms that will strengthen institutions, promote accountability, and improve the quality of governance across all sectors.
The latest cabinet adjustments come as part of Governor Radda’s ongoing efforts to consolidate his achievements and accelerate the pace of development across Katsina State.
