Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda took center stage at the annual Hawan Sallah fiesta. The celebration showcases rich cultural heritage that has defined Katsina for generations.
Deputy Governor Faruk Lawal Jobe joined the celebrations alongside members of the State executive council and distinguished traditional title holders.
On his part, the Emir of Katsina, HRH Alhaji (Dr) Abdulmumini Kabir Usman congratulate Muslim Ummah for the successful completion of Ramadan fasting. He further called for peace among residents of the State.
The event also gained international attention with diplomats from Bulgaria, Belgium, Finland, Portugal, Serbia, Mexico and other four countries captivated by the pageantry. The countries Ambassadors alongside their wives, eagerly took photos of the horsemen, musicians, and traditional performances that make the durbar a unique cultural treasure.
The international presence featured in this year’s edition is part of the frantic efforts by Governor Radda to transform Katsina into a tourism destination.
Governor Radda has been actively pursuing partnerships with foreign investors, using cultural showcases like the Hawan Sallah to market the state’s rich heritage and untapped tourism potential.
