We’ll surpass this year Hajj expectations – Amirul Hajj
Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has officially inaugurated the Committee for the 2025 Hajj exercise at a ceremony held today at the Government House Katsina.
The Governor expressed his commitment to building on last year’s successful pilgrimage while addressing identified areas for improvement.
In his address, the Governor stated, “The resources we are using to sponsor pilgrims are not to be taken for granted. We are entrusting you with public funds, and it is your duty to ensure that our pilgrims are well looked after.”
Governor Radda urged the management of the Pilgrims Welfare Board to ensure all delegates and staff fully meet their responsibilities.
“If anyone fails in this responsibility, I expect a report, and appropriate sanctions will follow,” the Governor warned.
The 2025 Hajj Delegation will be led by Deputy Governor Faruk Lawal Jobe as Amirul Hajj, alongside Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahya Daura, and the Commissioner for Religious Affairs.Alhaji Shehu Dabai. The delegation also includes Special Advisers, key members of the Pilgrims Welfare Board, Justice Aminu Tukur Kofar Bai representing the judiciary, and Lawal Attahiru Bakori, General Manager of Katsina State Radio, who will oversee media operations.
The Governor expressed confidence in the dedication and expertise of the esteemed Hajj delegation, adding it will bring about a successful Hajj.
“The primary role of this delegation is to ensure the smooth operation of the Hajj exercise, both at home and in the Holy Land. This includes safeguarding pilgrim welfare, overseeing transportation, and reporting back upon completion of the exercise,” the Governor explained.
The Governor also acknowledged the challenges of managing such a significant undertaking but expressed confidence in the delegation’s abilities.
“With this esteemed team, I have no doubt that we will have a successful Hajj inshallah,” he concluded.
In his acceptance speech, the Deputy Governor and Amirul Hajj, Malam Faruq Lawal Jobe, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead the delegation.
“Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam, and it is not only a religious duty but also a significant event for the Muslim Ummah and I am confident that with the support of this esteemed committee, we will deliver a successful and peaceful Hajj,” Malam Jobe stated.
The Deputy Governor praised the delegation expertise, noting, “I have full confidence that every one of us will contribute their expertise to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.”
The Deputy Governor also acknowledged significant resources allocated to provide pilgrims with quality services and support.
“The government has granted various concessions to make this process as smooth as possible for the pilgrims,” he noted.
“On behalf of all the members of this committee, I promise that we will do our utmost best to surpass this year’s Hajj expectations” the Amirul Hajj pledged.
He concluded, urging committee members to ensure pilgrims receive the full benefits of the allocated resources.
