Governor Radda Attends Funeral of Late Justice Mukhtar Dodo

The Executive Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, today joined hundreds of mourners at the National Mosque, Abuja, for the funeral prayer (Janaza) of the late Justice Mukhtar Muhammad Dodo, who passed away earlier today in Abuja at the age of 70.

The funeral prayer, held after the Asr prayer, was attended by a large gathering of sympathizers from across Nigeria, including senior members of the judiciary, political leaders, and close associates who came to pay their final respects to the late jurist.

Governor Radda joined the congregation in offering prayers for the repose of the soul of the deceased, describing his passing as a great loss not only to Katsina State but to the Nigerian judiciary as a whole.

The late Justice Mukhtar Muhammad Dodo, a native of Katsina State, had a long and illustrious career in the judiciary. He served as Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and later as a Judge of the High Court of Justice, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Throughout his career, he was known for his integrity, discipline, and deep sense of justice, which earned him respect among his peers and within the legal community.

Speaking shortly after the prayer, Governor Radda paid glowing tribute to the late jurist, describing him as an upright, patriotic, and humble individual who dedicated his life to promoting justice and strengthening Nigeria’s judicial system.

“Justice Dodo was a beacon of fairness, integrity, and professionalism. His remarkable service to the nation and his commitment to justice will remain a guiding light for generations of legal practitioners,” the Governor said.

Governor Radda prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased and grant him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus. He also prayed that Allah comfort the family, grant them patience, and bless them with the strength to bear the loss.

The Governor further urged the family of the late Justice Dodo to uphold his noble values of honesty, humility, and service to humanity.

May Allah grant the soul of Justice Mukhtar Muhammad Dodo peaceful rest and bless his family with patience and strength to endure this painful loss.

Among those who attended the funeral were the former Governor of Katsina State, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari; former Minister of Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika; former FCT Minister, Dr. Modibbo Aliyu Umar; former National Legal Adviser of the APC, Barrister Ahmed Usman El-Marzuq; Managing Director of NIRSAL Plc, Alhaji Abbas Masanawa; former Board Member of the National Iron Ore Mining Company (NIOMCO), Alhaji Iro Danfuloti; and Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua, representing Katsina Central Senatorial District.
