Governor Matawalle Splashes Houses, Cars, Money To Medical Doctors
The Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, has expressed gratitude to medical doctors and consultants who choose to come back home to contribute to the development of the state’s health secto.
Governor Matawalle was speaking on Wednesday when he hosted a dinner in honour of the newly qualified medical doctors and consultants of Zamfara state origin.
He congratulated the new medical doctors and consultants for successfully completing their studies, saying, Zamfara state is proud of them.
While appreciating them for excelling in the medical profession, Matawalle said, his administration will assist interested candidates from the state with scholarships to study medicine and other health related courses within and outside Nigeria.
Also, in appreciation of the contribution of the state chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, to the development of the health sector in the state, the governor donated a brand new 18-seater bus to the union to enable it to discharge its duties more effectively.
The governor, in addition, donated a 3 bedroom house to the best graduating medical student, Dr Aliyu Haruna, a brand new car to the immediate past president of NMA, Dr Umar Danbuba and a gift of 500 thousand naira each to the new medical doctors and consultants.
In a remark, the state chairman of the NMA, Dr Mannir Bature, commended Governor Matawalle for the giant strides recorded in the health sector citing example with the provision of Ambulances to all General Hospitals and the renovation and upgrade of various health centres across the state.
