Governor Malam Dikko Umar Radda, has earned the reputation of “The Bridge Builder” for uniting communities and delivering people-centered governance in Katsina State. His administration has made remarkable progress in security, education, healthcare, agriculture, and social welfare.
On security, the Governor established the Katsina Community Watch Corps with over 1,400 trained operatives, vehicles, and motorcycles. This grassroots initiative has complemented federal security forces and restored peace in many previously troubled communities.
In education, more than 75 new secondary schools have been built, thousands of existing schools renovated, and 7,000 teachers recruited. The government has also paid exam fees for 54,000 students and supported over 100,000 girls through conditional cash transfers under the Girl Education Development Initiative.
Healthcare has received a boost with the upgrade of 158 primary healthcare centers, the building of a modern dialysis center, and medical partnerships that secured over $10 million worth of equipment and supplies. In agriculture and youth empowerment, the government has distributed 400 tractors and launched KASEDA, a ₦5 billion revolving fund for entrepreneurship and skills training.
These efforts, complemented by infrastructure projects, rural access roads, digital governance reforms, and social welfare programs, have earned Governor Radda prestigious honors including Leadership Newspaper’s Governor of the Year 2023 and the Best Performing Governor of 2025 Award. He remains committed to building bridges between government and citizens for a safer and more prosperous Katsina State.
