In a swift response to the incursion of a new Islamic sect, Lakurawa, into Kebbi State, Governor Nasir Idris dispatched a high-level delegation to the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, for immediate intervention.
Led by Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Sen. Atiku Bagudu, the delegation also included Sen. Bala Ibn Na’Allah, APC National Organising Secretary Alhaji Suleiman Argungu, and former Attorney-General Alhaji Nasiru Junju.
During the meeting, Bagudu emphasized the urgency of addressing the security threats posed by the sect, not only in Kebbi but across the nation.
He expressed gratitude for the support of the military and other security agencies in confronting the challenges facing the state.
Gen. Musa assured Kebbi’s delegation that the military is ready to take swift action to counter the Lakurawa threat and collaborate closely with security agencies to safeguard the region.
Governor Idris reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to working with the armed forces to ensure peace and security for Kebbi residents.
