Governor Bala Asks for Equity in Federal Appointments for Bauchi

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi has urged the Federal Character Commission to ensure that Bauchi state is not marginalized in the appointments of its citizens to key federal ministries, departments, and agencies.

The Governor who made the plea while receiving a delegation from the Federal Character Commission led by its executive Chairman Dr. Muhibbah Dan Kaka, at the Government House in Bauchi Wednesday, urged the commission  to ensure fairness in all federal appointments.

Senator Bala Mohammed emphasized the importance of equity and justice in federal appointments, stressing that Bauchi state should be adequately represented in all MDAs at the federal level.

The Governor also stressed the need for the commission to uphold its mandate of promoting balanced representation among states of the federation, while fostering inclusivity across federal agencies.

Senator Bala noted that Bauchi, like other states in the federation, has qualified and capable individuals who can effectively serve the nation if given the required opportunity.

He told the commission delegation that was in Bauchi to open state office, that fairness and equitable representation in federal appointments would not only enhance unity, but also foster a sense of belonging among citizens from all regions of the country.

The Executive Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Muhibbah Dan Kaka has earlier assured the governor that the commission remained focused on promoting an equitable distribution of positions across all states.

Dr. Dan Kaka pledged that Bauchi’s concerns would be taken into consideration as the commission carries out its responsibilities.
