Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano state has urged the residents of the state to imbibe the spirit of patriotism to ensure that the sacrifices of Nigeria’s forefathers were not in vain.
Governor Abba Kabir made the call at the commemoration of Nigeria’s 64th Independence anniversary held at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Tuesday.
He said, “As we stand on the shoulders of giants, we must ask ourselves: What will be our contribution to the future of this great state? How will we ensure that the sacrifices made by our forefathers were not in vain? As we look ahead to the future, let us do so with optimism, unity, and a shared sense of purpose.
“Let us draw inspiration from our past achievements, learn from our challenges, and march forward with courage and conviction.
Governor Yusuf furthermore said together can overcome any obstacle, achieve any goal, and realize the full potential of our great nation.
“Fellow citizens, it is clear that we face significant challenges in our time.
the Kano governor manitained that from economic pressures to social inequalities, from security concerns to the impacts of climate change, we are confronted with obstacles that require bold and innovative solutions.
”Yet, we cannot allow these challenges to deter us from our goal of building a better future for all citizens of Kano State and Nigeria at large.”
The governor while expressing optimism about a brighter future said it however lies in the ability of the citizens to work together, just as the country’s forefathers did.
“We must unite across political, ethnic, and religious lines to tackle the pressing issues of our time.”
”Each of us has a role to play in shaping the future – whether you are a traditional ruler, religious leader, civil servant, public servant, a farmer, a teacher, a student, or a business owner, your contributions matter.
Abba Kabir added that by investing in the well-being of our communities, by working hard in our respective fields, and by holding our leaders accountable.
”we can ensure that the next generation inherits a nation that is stronger, more equitable, and more resilient than the one we found.
The Governor assured the public of his administration’s commitment to remain focused towards fulfilling the promises of delivering people oriented projects that will have positive impacts on the lives of the masses and the general development of the state.
“We will continue to work tirelessly to improve the lives of our people, foster inclusive growth and build a society where every citizen can fulfill his/her potential and contribute meaningfully to our collective progress.
