Gov. Radda Taps Finance Commissioner for Local Govt Role

Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has appointed the Commissioner of Finance as the Acting Head of the Ministry of Local Government Affairs. This follows the elevation of Dr. Badamas Lawal Charanchi to the role of National Social Investment Programs Agency Coordinator by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Governor Radda made the appointment during the 8th Regular Council Meeting, where several crucial initiatives were also greenlit. Notably, the Katsina State Business Enabling Reform Action Plan (SABER) received approval, paving the way for a more investor-friendly environment to boost the state’s economy.

Additionally, the Council authorized the procurement of water treatment chemicals worth N365.3 million, ensuring safe drinking water for residents. In a bid to enhance security, street lights will be installed along the Katsina-Dutsinma road leading to Alqalam University.

The meeting also saw the Council extending heartfelt condolences to Commissioner Hamza Suleiman Faskari on the passing of his mother, offering prayers and support during this difficult time.
