Gov Radda Launches N20 Billion Urban Renewal Project in Funtua

In a landmark move towards transforming Funtua into a modern urban hub, Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has flagged off the N20 billion Funtua Urban Renewal Project. The initiative focuses on dualizing major roads and enhancing infrastructure to boost connectivity and economic growth.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Governor Radda unveiled three key projects:

Dualization of Funtua-Sokoto Road (5.9km) at a cost of N12.8 billion.

Reconstruction of Funtua-Katsina Dual Carriageway (3.9km) valued at N5.8 billion.

Rehabilitation of Tsohuwar-Kasuwa-Funtua Road (1.2km) for N637 million.

The Governor described the project as a “transformative journey” to modernize Funtua and promote trade and business. He also assured that affected property owners would receive due compensation.

State Commissioner of Works, Housing, and Transport, Engr. (Dr) Sani Magaji Ingawa, highlighted the inclusion of solar-powered streetlights, asphalt surfacing, and concrete works in the road designs, pledging the Ministry’s commitment to high-quality delivery.

Senator Muntari Dandutse lauded the Governor’s efforts, including the provision of land and funds for the Federal University of Health Sciences, Funtua. Meanwhile, Alhaji Sambo Ibn Sambo, the Sarkin Maskan Katsina, praised the Governor for fulfilling his campaign promises.

MotherCat Nigeria Limited, led by its Managing Director, Mr. Jack El-Najack, promised timely and top-notch project execution.

The Funtua Urban Renewal Project signals a new era of infrastructure development under Governor Radda’s administration, reinforcing his commitment to a more connected and prosperous Katsina State.
