Katsina state government

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has lauded the appointment of Mallam Abba Zayyan, General Manager of Katsina State Television (KTTV), as Interim National Coordinator of the Nigeria MIL Media Executives Network (NiMMEN).

Zayyan’s selection was announced during a UNESCO-backed workshop in Abuja, organized in collaboration with the Media Awareness and Information For All Network (MAIN).

Governor Radda hailed the development as a proud moment for Katsina, describing it as a “well-deserved national recognition” of the state’s commitment to grooming media professionals of high repute.

“When we appointed Mallam Zayyan as KTTV General Manager, we knew we were choosing a man of vision and experience. His new national role affirms our confidence in him and showcases the strength of Katsina’s media landscape,” Governor Radda stated.

Zayyan, a veteran broadcaster with over 30 years in the industry, now leads NiMMEN—a groundbreaking initiative aimed at integrating Media and Information Literacy (MIL) into editorial practices across Nigeria’s media organizations.

Governor Radda expressed confidence in Zayyan’s leadership, noting that NiMMEN under his guidance will promote responsible journalism, digital awareness, and public trust in the media.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Katsina State, I extend heartfelt congratulations to Mallam Zayyan. His appointment marks a new chapter in Nigeria’s journey toward a more enlightened and media-literate society,” the governor added.
