The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) Prof. Muazu Abubakar has called on his successor to consolidate on University development to foster education across the region.
The VC made the appeal at a public lecture organized by the College of Health Science as lineup activities to fawel the CV whose five years tenure would end on Tuesday Feb 10, 2026.
The Dallay Struggle report that the College organized the lecture and award presentation in appreciation to VC for establishing the college within his tenure.
The college take-up with 18 Departments, 11 Laboratory and a medical library.
Muazu would be handing over the office of the Vice Chancellor to Prof. Tukur Adamu by Feb 10
Abubakar said what he did was his responsibility as the Vice Chancellor of the University, so for my predecessor should argument from where I stop to enable the college assume it full capacity.
He said not only the college of health science, but general development of the institution, what ever he does history would remembered him.
He thank the university community and other stakeholders for supporting his administration to record success.
Also speaking the Gust lecturer and Provost College of Health Science, Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) Prof. Ismaila Mungadi in a paper title; Breaking the Silence: Understanding Prostate Health and Urinary Issues.
Mungadi said prostate was the must commenly malignancy in Nigeria and second must commenly worldwide among old age of 50 years and above.
He said in every 60 years of age 50% were liable to prostate health issue and 80 years 90% liable to affect with prostate enlargement or cancer.
He advised all 50years and above to break silence to enable early detection, early medical advice give more options and batter outcome.
In his remarks the College of Health Science (CHS) Prof. Abdulrazaq Taiwo appreciated the VC and entire management team for bringing gent development into the University during the tenure.
He also urged the VC to continued to remember FUGUS in all opportunities across to him, he wishes him God’s guidance in his endeavors.
