FUDMA matriculates 4,000 students
The Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA), in Katsina State, has matriculated 4,000 students for the College of Professional and Continuing Studies.
Speaking during the 6th matriculation in Dutsinma on Tuesday, the Vice-Vhancellor (V-C), Prof. Armaya’u Hamisu-Bichi congratulated the new students.
Hamisu-Bichi said that in the current session, the college had received 4,860 applications, out of which 4,000 were admitted and accepted their admission.
“On behalf of the Senate, staff, and students of our great institution, I extend warm felicitations to our newly admitted students, who have successfully secured admission to pursue degree programmes in the College.
“To our new students, I offer heartfelt congratulations on this significant milestone,” he said.
According to the vice-chancellor, the university prioritises motivation, achievements, integrity, and academic excellence, ensuring a conducive learning environment for all students.
He advised, “As you begin your academic journey at FUDMA, it is essential to familiarise yourselves with the expectations for responsible students’ conduct.
“The university emphasises the importance of avoiding certain vices that can jeopardise your studies and overall well-being.
“These guidelines include avoiding cultism and drug abuse, which can lead to expulsion, upholding academic integrity and avoiding examination misconduct, which can also result in expulsion.”
Hamisu-Bichi further commended the students for their decision to join the university.
He assured them that the institution was dedicated to providing them with the required knowledge and skills necessary for a successful graduation.
The vice-chancellor further explained that the college received university approval to run 24 Diploma programmes, seven Top-Up Degree Programmes and 16 Postgraduate Programmes.
He revealed, “The Postgraduate Diploma programme in Community Health Education attracted students from all the geographic zones in Nigeria.
“In addition to these programmes, the University Management had established 19 study centres across Katsina, Kano, Kaduna State s and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to facilitate easy access to education.”
