The 1997 graduagtes of Federal Science College Sokoto, has donated N1.5 million water tanks and other assessories to ease students conditions on water scarcity in the college.
The Association Chairman, Alhaji Aminu Shata, presented the installed items to the school Principal, Alhaji Bala Waziri, along with other school management on Tuesday in Sokoto.
Shata said the initiative was to give back to the Alma mata in reciprocation of their formative ages and community contributions.
He said they could not forget their days in the college and always want to associate with the school community, the reason why they initiated the idea of dowsing water scarcity for both students and teachers.
In his address, the Project Coordinator, Mr Abubakar Aliyu, said each of the three installed water tank is 3,000 liters capacity and linked with water supply systems.
Aliyu explained that all tanks were equipped with relevant tools for water storage and flows for easy maintenance and safeguarding of the items against vandalism.
Responding, the School Principal thanked the association members for the gesture which he said would surely enhance water supply in the school and urged other graduated students to emulate them.
Newsmen reports that other members that witnessed the handing over included Zayyanu Hali, Abubakar Muhammad, Francis Adogamam, Sunday Oladimeji, and Muhammadu Tambari.
