As Katsina braces for a massive influx of worshippers, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Katsina State Command, has issued a firm travel advisory ahead of the National Maulud Gathering of Sheikh Ibrahim Inyas, slated for Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Karkanda Stadium.
In a press statement released on Friday, January 16, 2026, the Command—under the leadership of Sector Commander Corps Commander Maxwell Kaltungo Lede—called on motorists and pilgrims alike to strictly obey traffic rules and maintain proper parking discipline within and around the venue.
According to the FRSC, the spiritual gathering is expected to draw thousands of faithful from across Nigeria, making traffic orderliness not just desirable but essential. The Command warned that indiscriminate parking and road obstruction could cripple movement and endanger lives.
“Strict compliance with traffic regulations is sacrosanct to the success of the event and the safety of all road users,” the statement stressed.
To ensure a smooth, free flow of traffic, FRSC personnel will be deployed to key routes and access points around the stadium. Attendees were urged to cooperate fully with officers on duty and avoid actions that could cause congestion or accidents.
The Katsina State Command concluded by wishing participants a peaceful, fruitful, and hitch-free Maulud, reaffirming its commitment to road safety before, during, and after the historic gathering.
