The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Katsina State, Corps Commander Maxwell Kaltungo Lede, has been honoured with the Humanitarian Service Award of Honour by the Association of Indigenous Nigerians Resident in Katsina State (AINRKS), the umbrella body for non-indigenes living across the state.
The award ceremony, held at the FRSC Sector Headquarters in Katsina, drew applause from community leaders, officers, and residents who have witnessed Commander Lede’s growing impact since assuming duty in the state.
AINRKS President, Prince Kunle Awe, JP, described Commander Lede as “a man of honour, integrity and a bridge-builder; a true ambassador of a system known for humanitarian service.” He praised the commander’s dedication to the Association and his consistent respect for human dignity while carrying out his official responsibilities.
Since his posting to Katsina a few months ago, Commander Lede has earned a reputation for strengthening community relations and promoting a people-centred approach to road safety management. Colleagues and residents attest to his humility, compassion, and ability to execute his duties without bias.
Accepting the award, Commander Lede expressed profound gratitude:
“I am deeply humbled by this recognition. It is a testament to the collective effort of the FRSC team, our partners, and the people of Katsina who have welcomed us with open arms. My role is simply to serve, protect, and foster a culture of compassion on our roads and within our communities.”
He further reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with stakeholders to make Katsina safer and more humane for all road users.
Commander Lede also used the platform to encourage AINRKS leadership to strengthen collaboration with the state government under His Excellency, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, Ph.D. He lauded the governor’s inclusive leadership style, noting that it has created an enabling environment where every resident can thrive without feeling segregated.
“Katsina is truly the home of heritage and hospitality,” he said. “With the governor’s visionary leadership, we have no excuse for not giving our best to this great state.”
The recognition, stakeholders say, reinforces FRSC’s broader commitment to safety, community engagement, and humanitarian values—key pillars in advancing a more responsible and people-friendly road transport culture nationwide.
