KATSINA — The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Katsina State Sector Command, has been thrown into mourning following the death of one of its committed Special Marshals, Abubakar Ibrahim Yar’adua.
The late Special Marshal, a dedicated member of the Metro Unit, RS1.3 Katsina Sector Command, passed away on February 9, 2026, while receiving medical treatment in Abuja. He was laid to rest the following day, February 10, 2026, in accordance with Islamic rites at Yar’adua Quarters Cemetery, Katsina.
Leading the corps delegation to the funeral prayer and burial was the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Maxwell K. Lede, accompanied by officers and fellow Special Marshals, in a solemn show of solidarity and support for the bereaved family.
In his condolence message, Corps Commander Lede described the deceased as a loyal, disciplined and selfless officer who served with unwavering dedication. Until his passing, Abubakar Ibrahim Yar’adua served as the Unit Provost of the Metro Unit, RS1.3, where he was widely respected for his commitment to duty and exemplary conduct.
Receiving the delegation on behalf of the family, the State Coordinator, Dr. Sani Ibrahim Yar’adua—who is also the elder brother of the deceased—expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Sector Commander and his entourage for standing by the family in their moment of grief.
Colleagues and associates remembered the late Special Marshal as a man of integrity whose service and sacrifice will not be forgotten within the Corps and beyond.
Prayers were offered for Almighty Allah to grant him Aljanatu Firdaus, forgive his shortcomings, and grant his family the strength, patience and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
