The Katsina State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Corps Commander Maxwell K. Lede, has paid a courtesy visit to the Director General of the Katsina State Safety and Road Traffic Authority (KASSAROTA), Maj. Yahya Garba (Rtd), in a move aimed at strengthening collaboration on road safety in the state.
During the meeting, both agencies explored areas of partnership, including joint awareness campaigns, personnel training, and coordinated patrols to tackle overloading and other unsafe practices on the highways.
Commending Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda for establishing KASSAROTA, CC Lede described the initiative as a visionary step that aligns with global efforts to cut road traffic crashes and fatalities by 50 percent before 2030, in line with the United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety.
“The state has invested heavily in physical road infrastructure, leaving no excuse for failure. We must reciprocate this enabling environment by delivering efficient services with clear evidence of performance,” Lede stated.
