The hero? None other than Alhaji Aminu Isiyaku Yusuf, Executive Chairman of the Katsina State Internal Revenue Service.
On Friday, June 27, 2025, a serious road crash occurred at Dandogaro. Without hesitation, Alhaji Aminu witnessed the chaos and immediately called FRSC Sector Commander, Corps Commander Maxwell Kaltungo Lede.
That timely alert triggered a swift emergency response.
“Lives were saved—because one man chose to act instead of turning away,” said Lede in a powerful press briefing in Katsina.
Commander Lede didn’t mince words: “The speed of our rescue depends on how fast we are informed. Delay costs lives. A single phone call can be the difference between life and death.”

As the rainy season deepens, Lede issued a strong advisory to drivers: the roads are slick, visibility is poor, and hidden dangers—including stray animals and unaware pedestrians—lurk at every turn.
“Drive like your life—and the lives of others—depend on it, because it does,” he said. “Rain changes everything. Be alert, stay calm, and drive with your eyes on the unexpected.”
He warned that animals crossing the roads without warning pose major risks. Defensive driving—scanning the road, predicting hazards, and making safe decisions—is the key to survival.
Lede called on Nigerians to shed the “it’s not my concern” mentality.
“Road safety is a collective duty. Everyone has a role to play—drivers, passengers, pedestrians, even bystanders,” he emphasized. “The life you help save today might be yours tomorrow.”
