Friday Sermon Highlights the Temporary Nature of Worldly Life in Batagarawa

Borno State Government

Worshippers at the Fatma Shema Housing Estate Jumu’ah Mosque in Batagarawa Local Government Area were reminded of the fleeting nature of worldly life during this week’s Friday sermon.

The sermon, delivered by Imam Zaharaddeen Yakubu Musa, centered on the theme of life as a temporary journey, a stopover where believers prepare provisions for the eternal life in the Hereafter.

Imam Zaharaddeen explained that worldly life is uncertain and holds little value in the eyes of a true believer, who should view it only as a ladder leading to everlasting life. He noted that if this world had any real worth before Allah, even the unbelievers would not have been granted a drop of water from it.

He urged Muslims to focus on seeking the Hereafter while making good use of worldly opportunities as a field to sow deeds that will be harvested on the Day of Judgment.

The Imam also emphasized the importance of knowledge, stating that anyone who seeks worldly success should pursue knowledge, those striving for the Hereafter should seek knowledge, and whoever desires both must equally pursue knowledge.
