FOMWAN’s Annual Ramadan Lecture in Kaduna: Strengthening Faith

The Kaduna State Chapter of the Federation of Muslim Women Association in Nigeria ( FOMWAN) , has organized the 29th edition of the 2024 annual closing Ramadan lectures on Sunday at Sultan Bello Masjid Hall Kaduna.

The theme of the event , is ” Economic Hardship and Societal Menace, A way forward: the Islamic Perspective”.

Speaking at the event, the Amir FOMWAN , Kaduna State Chapter , Nafisat Musa Isah said that the annual lecture was part of FOMWAN’s activities to enlighten , sensitize and the educate the Muslim Ummah.

She stated that the Federation of Women Association in Nigeria (FOMWAN) had been actively serving the communities since its establishment in I985 with its presence in all 36 states in Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory Abuja .

Isah noted that the Association had been at forefront of empowering and supporting women,youths and the less privileged in the society.”

According to her, the main reason for choosing the topic of the lecture was to educate people on how to reduce the present economic hardship confronting Nigerians irrespective of their financial status.

She thanked all members of FOMWAN and their patron for making this year’s lecture a reality.

In her goodwill message, the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe said that the lecture organized by FOMWAN was very important considering the the present economic situation in the country.

” She explained that everyone had a role to play to get out of the present economic situation.”

The Deputy Governor said that as a women and mother , it was their responsibility to ensure the training and upbringing of their children in the society, adding that women must educate their children and give them good health care.”

Speaking further, she said that women and youths must engage in skill acquisition so as to become self reliance and have less dependence on the government.

She said that Kaduna State Government had taken a bold step in reducing the current economic hardship ravaging the people by assisting business owners , especially women and youths in the state.

While urging women to ensure that they avail themselves or what they had learned form the lectures and during Ramadan to impact on their lives, she thanked FOMWAN for organizing the lectures.

On his part, the Guest Lecturer, Dr. Ibrahim Abudullahi in his paper presentation underscored strategic measures for the country to exit from the present economic hardship and make quotation of some verses in the holy Quran, and highlight the significance of supplications.
