The Federation of Muslim Women Association in Nigeria FOMWAN had it’s Ramadan 1446AH closing lecture at Juma’atu Nasril Islam National Headquarters Kaduna with the Theme: The Status and honor of women in Islam.
In her welcome address the FOMWAN Amirah Kaduna State Chapter, Nafisat Musa Isah said that the Association organized a series of lectures annually during Ramadan and extended outreach to villages and communities.
She explained that the lecture would help both women and men in their roles in Islam, adding that it was part of FOMWAN activities to help women understand their roles and status in the perspective of Islam.
According to her, FOMWAN had reached out to over 520 individuals through lectures in addressing crucial issues such as marriage, child upbringing and virtues of patience and perseverance.
“She added that FOMWAN conducted numerous marriage counseling sessions for parents and newlyweds to address the rising case of divorce in the society.”
She announced that Kaduna State had been selected to host the 2025 FOMWAN national conference and the 40th anniversary of FOMWAN in August 2025.
In her remarks, the Kaduna State Deputy Governor, who spoke through the Commissioner Ministry of Health Umma K . Ahmed said that the lecture would help in sensitizing the people and bring out the importance of women according to Islam.
“She stated that God had explained that woman are important , stressing that prophet Muhammad (SAW) also respected women because they were important.”
She called on women to hold their integrity and ensure that they train their children to be better future leaders and commended Kaduna Branch of FOMWAN for organizing the lecture.
On his part ,the Royal father of day , the emir of Zazzau, Amb. Ahamed Bamalli said that Islam was fair to all in protecting one’s rights, emphasizing that in Western countries, human rights are protected for the purpose of advancing their people.
He explained that Muslim married couples should learn to be patient and respect each other, reminding them that crisis in different homes was as a result of hardship and frustration amongst couples.
He said that he was not in support of human rights organizations who were campaigning for so called human right.
In his paper presentation, titled “Matsayi da Daraja Ya Mace a Mahangar Musulucin” , Sheikh Al- Ahamed Hamza said that the Islam religion was the religion that give women both right to live in peace and to have the right man she wants on her life .
He said that islam religion did not give men power to maltreat women but to support women to build her self and her children .
He advised women to go to school and educate themselves to know exactly what Islam gives them in terms of their rights as human being.
