FMHUD Unveils Transformative Housing Plans in Meet the Press Forum

In a dynamic showcase of accountability and innovation, the Hon. Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, presented groundbreaking achievements and ambitious plans at the Meet the Press forum, an initiative by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to promote transparency and accountability across MDAs.

Speaking on the Renewed Hope Agenda for Housing and Urban Development, Dangiwa highlighted the Renewed Hope Cities and Estates Programme, with 10,112 housing units under construction nationwide, including 12 estates of 250 units each across geopolitical zones and mega cities in Abuja, Kano, and Lagos. Over 1,000 units in the Abuja Renewed Hope City are nearing completion, with commissioning slated for Mr. President.

Dangiwa emphasized leveraging the sector for economic growth, revealing that ongoing projects have created over 252,800 jobs, paying workers up to ₦150,000 monthly. Innovations like the Renewed Hope Housing Delivery Online Portal have revolutionized housing access, enabling seamless property selection, application, and payment processes for Nigerians, including the diaspora.

The Minister also announced progress in land administration, slum upgrades, and plans for the National Social Housing Fund (NSHF) to support low-income and vulnerable Nigerians.

With a cross-subsidy model ensuring affordability, Public-Private Partnerships driving funding, and urban renewal projects in 110 sites nationwide, FMHUD is redefining the housing landscape. As Dangiwa stated, “Our commitment is to deliver on President Tinubu’s vision of affordable, dignified housing for all Nigerians.”
