FLOOD WRECKED HAVOC IN GWADABAWA LGA-SOKOTO

The rainfall that persisted for several days has made more than 17 community dwellers fled to safety for their dear life
It was also learnt that several livestock, farm crops and unquantifiable properties washed away in the over 17 communities ravaged by flood in the local council area of Sokoto State
Sole administrator of the council, Malam Mohammed Umar Boi who disclosed this said many of the flood victims now take refuge in primary schools and the council Secretariat
Also, the council administrator, GWADABAWA was not left out of the flood disaster as more than 7 locations were submerged with many building collapsed, adding that in all, several people have been rendered homeless
The council chairman, has therefore sent (SOS) SAVE-OUR-SOUL message to the state government for urgent assistance to the flood victims and other donor agencies
Meanwhile the State Environmental Emergency  (SEMA) had since moved in to access the gravity of damage done by the flood for onward report for assistance by the state government and FGN
Speaking, the district head Gwadabawa and former speaker Sokoto Assembly , Alhaji Zaryannu Abdullahi has appealed to the people of the affected areas to take it as an act of God and pray Allah prevent future occurrence
Meanwhile, the state Government’s powerful delegation has moved in to provide adequate relief materials to all the affected people of the area, several trucks loaded with relief materials such as rubber mats, food items, blankets and clothes heading to the council area for distribution.
