Gombe State Police Command has arrested five teenagers accused of beating a young man to death during a heated argument at a wedding ceremony.
The incident, which occurred in the bustling neighborhood of Pantami, has left the community in shock.
According to eyewitnesses, what started as a verbal spat escalated into a violent confrontation, culminating in the tragic death of the victim. The suspects, all aged between 16 and 19, were swiftly apprehended by the police following a tip-off from concerned residents.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mahmud Abubakar, confirmed the arrests and assured the public that justice would be served. “We have taken the suspects into custody and launched a thorough investigation. No one involved in this heinous act will escape justice,” he stated.
