Sequel to streamlining investigations against the ex-Accountant General of Bauchi state and permanent secretary in the Ministry of Higher Education, Sa’idu Abubakar, the government has suspended him indefinitely from the services of the state.
The ex-Accountant General was Monday along with another permanent secretary, Danjuma Garba, and Chief Executive Officer (Account) Bala Ibrahim Sabo suspended for serious gross misconduct in the service
A press statement by the information officer with the State Civil Service Commission (CSC), Saleh Umar, said the suspension was considered during the Commission’s first Extraordinary sitting this year held Monday 30th September, 2024.
Malam Saleh Umar who disclosed that the officers suspension is with effect from 27th September, 2024, said that the commission during its meeting reviewed the recommendations and other available documents on the affected officers submitted by the Office of the State Head of Civil Service.
He explained that the Office of the Head of Civil Service had recommended appropriate disciplinary actions to be taken against the misconducting public Officers.
“The Commission suspended them under Section 0331 of the Bauchi State Public Service Regulations to give room for further investigation since the matter is currently with the relevant authorities”, Umar stated.
Umar explained that the suspended officers were hitherto attached to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Ministry of Higher Education and Ministry of Natural Resources respectively.
The Chairman of the Commission Alh. Abubakar Usman had in a remark during the meeting, warned the state public/civil servants to adhere strictly to the rules of engagement in the conduct and discharge of their responsibilities.
