The long-cherished wish of Nigeria’s late billionaire industrialist and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, to be laid to rest in the sacred city of Madinah, where the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is buried, may soon be fulfilled — pending approval from Saudi Arabian authorities.
Family sources confirmed that the body of the elder statesman, who passed away in Abu Dhabi, is still being held in the UAE as efforts continue to secure final clearance for interment in Madinah, the second holiest city in Islam.
According to family insiders, this was a personal and deeply spiritual desire of the late patriarch — one he often shared privately with loved ones and close associates during his lifetime.
However, should the approval process experience significant delays, the family may be compelled to return his remains to Kano, his ancestral home, for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.
Mourners across Nigeria and beyond have continued to pour in tributes for the late Dantata, remembering him as a pillar of business, faith, and philanthropy who touched countless lives and contributed immensely to the growth of Nigeria’s economy.
“As we await divine will on his final resting place, we pray Allah forgives his shortcomings and grants him Jannatul Firdaus,” a family representative stated in a brief message.
