The Emir of Fika and Chairman, Yobe State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Mohammed Abali Ibn Abali Muhammadu Idrisa, has congratulated Radio Nigeria on its 75th anniversary, praising its enduring role in national development.
In a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Alhaji Mohammad Abubakar (Chokalin Fika), the monarch described the national broadcaster as a “pillar of information and unity,” noting its immense contributions to shaping public discourse and preserving Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage.
“For three-quarters of a century, Radio Nigeria has stood as a beacon of information, education and entertainment, reaching millions with professionalism and integrity,” the Emir said.
He commended the organisation’s resilience in navigating the evolving media landscape, adding that its commitment to credible journalism has earned it the trust of Nigerians across generations.
The royal father further highlighted the station’s role in strengthening democracy through informed citizen engagement, urging its management and staff to sustain high standards while embracing innovation.
“As you mark this historic milestone, we celebrate your achievements and encourage you to explore new frontiers that will deepen your impact,” he added.
The Emir wished the organisation continued success, expressing confidence that Radio Nigeria will remain a leading voice in the country’s media space.
