Jubilation swept through the Zirki Zanzana area of Fika town early this morning as Ba’aba Habu and his wife, Hajja Amina, welcomed quadruplets — two boys and two girls — at the General Hospital Fika.

The rare multiple birth, however, comes with pressing challenges. Medical officials say the newborns require specialized care and will be transferred to the Specialist Hospital Potiskum, where they will be placed in incubators for close monitoring and nursing.

With the couple reportedly living in poverty, calls have gone out to the Yobe State government, humanitarian groups, and kind-hearted Nigerians to step in with urgent assistance.

Community members warn that caring for four newborns at once is an enormous financial and emotional strain, especially without stable income. Support in the form of medical care, food, clothing, and financial aid is deemed critical to ensure the babies’ survival and the family’s well-being.

For now, joy mixes with worry in Fika, as residents rally around the parents in hope that help will come swiftly.
