The Federal Government has suspended Max Air’s operations for three months following a landing mishap at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport.
The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) confirmed the suspension on Wednesday, citing safety concerns after a Max Air Boeing 737-400 (5N-MBD) suffered a tyre burst while landing at 10:51 p.m. on Tuesday night.
The NCAA described the move as a precautionary measure while a thorough investigation is conducted. “The safety of passengers and air travel remains our top priority,” the authority stated.
This suspension marks another setback for the airline, which has faced scrutiny over recent operational challenges.
