Prominent Ministers, Islamic Scholars Lead Nigeria’s Representation for Funeral in Madinah
A high-powered delegation from the Federal Government of Nigeria has arrived in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ahead of the burial rites of late business mogul and elder statesman, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata.
Leading the delegation is the Minister of Defence and former Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar. He is joined by a distinguished team comprising the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN; the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris; and the Minister of State for Housing Development, Honourable Yusuf Abdullahi Ata.
Also part of the delegation are revered Islamic clerics, including Dr. Bashir Aliyu Umar, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, and Khalifa Abdullahi Muhammad, who is the chief imam of the Dantata Mosque in Abuja.
In coordination with the Nigerian Consulate General in Jeddah, led by Ambassador Muazzam Ibrahim Nayaya, the delegation is overseeing final preparations for the Janazah (funeral prayer), scheduled to take place later on Monday in the sacred city of Madinah, where Dantata had wished to be buried.
The presence of this powerful delegation underscores the national significance of Alhaji Aminu Dantata’s passing, reflecting a lifetime of impact in business, philanthropy, and nation-building.
