The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Interior, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Ahmad, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Hajiya Dada, mother of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, who passed away at the age of 102.
In a heartfelt statement released by his Special Assistant on Media, Sardauna Francis, Hon. Ahmad commiserated with the Yar’Adua family, the Government, and the people of Katsina State. He praised the late matriarch as a “gem of inestimable value,” whose wisdom and guidance shaped many of Nigeria’s notable leaders.
Representing Musawa/Matazu Federal Constituency, Hon. Ahmad reflected on Hajiya Dada’s legacy, describing her as a “mother of multitudes” whose home was a sanctuary of love, open to all, regardless of background or beliefs.
“I am deeply saddened by the passing of Hajiya Dada, the beloved mother of our esteemed leader, the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua. She was an accomplished matriarch who lived a life of faith and grace,” Ahmad said.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker extended his condolences to the Yar’Adua family and prayed for Allah’s mercy on her soul, hoping she would be granted Al-jannah Firdausi.
