Aliko Dangote, Chairman of Dangote Industries Limited, has revealed that the price of petrol from his state-of-the-art refinery will be set by the Federal Executive Council (FEC), under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Dangote disclosed that the FEC-approved pricing structure is in its final stages, with an official announcement expected soon. “As soon as we finalize discussions with NNPC, our products could hit the market within 48 hours,” he stated confidently.
The refinery, which boasts a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, has already begun producing diesel and aviation fuel, with petrol set to join the mix. The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) expects the refinery to supply 25 million litres of petrol daily by September, increasing to 30 million litres daily by October.
