FCT Police Nab Three Notorious Kidnappers Tied to Killings and Mass Abductions

Katsina state government

Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have arrested three high-profile kidnappers linked to a string of deadly abductions across Abuja and parts of Kaduna State.

The coordinated operation, carried out on June 29 between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., was executed by the elite Scorpion Squad led by Assistant Commissioner of Police, Victor O. Godfrey. The arrests followed a series of targeted intelligence efforts, including digital tracking and surveillance.

The suspects—identified as Abdulkadir Abubakar from Mpape in the FCT, Mohammed Tasiu Sani from Rigina, Kaduna State, and 27-year-old Suleiman Jibrin from Sabon-Gayan, Kaduna State—are all of Fulani origin and have long been on the police’s most-wanted list for terror-related crimes.

Police sources confirmed to Zagazola Makama that the trio had been actively involved in coordinated kidnappings and violent attacks across Jere, Kajuru, the outskirts of Abuja, and nearby communities.

During intense interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to abducting victims and transporting them to makeshift detention camps deep within Kachia and Rigina forests in Kaduna. While some hostages were held for extended periods pending ransom payments, others were tragically executed.

Abdulkadir Abubakar is said to have revealed chilling details about internal killings within their gang, where members suspected of betrayal were eliminated by their own leaders.

A notorious operational motorcycle, locally nicknamed the “Boko Haram Motorcycle,” was also recovered during the raid. Authorities believe it was used for surveillance and transportation during operations.

The police command confirmed that the suspects are currently aiding efforts to recover hidden arms and apprehend remaining gang members still operating in the region.

Residents have applauded the breakthrough, while security agencies continue to tighten the noose on criminal networks threatening peace and safety in the FCT and beyond.
